DI KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Dec, 2017 ) :Deputy Commissioner Noman Afzal Afridi has said concrete measures will be made for extending relief to masses. Addressing an open court (Kuli Kuchery) here, the DC said that all departments were meant for the service of the masses and their officials were needed to take effective measures for resolving problems of people of the district.

He added no leniency would be shown to the officers who failed to take any step for service and addressing complaints of the people. He said that such forums would also be held in future as well as these served as an effective role in learning about peoples problems.

He said awareness should be created among people to attend open kucheries to resolve issues in amicable manner after valuable suggestions by the participants. He said that district government was committed to take all possible measures for socio-economic uplift of people and in this regard, he added merit based policies would be pursed at all sectors.

He directed all the concerned departments to taken tangible measures to complete all the on-going development projects within stipulated period of time, adding these development projects would be strictly monitored in order to ensure prosperity of the district which had long been awaiting development initiatives.

He urged the people to put forward their suggestions and recommendations for further improving policies of the district government as it was a collective responsible to evolve a prosperous society where brotherhood, peace and harmony prevailed.

Referring to problems being faced by womenfolk, the DC said that women had always played important role in socio-economic development of the country, adding strict action would be taken against those officials who failed to take steps for resolving problems of women.

People also complained about inflation and the DC directed the concerned officials to make stringent measures to ensure quality edible items at affordable prices to citizens and impose fine on shopkeepers for overcharging or violating hygiene standards.

He also directed the eateries to maintain cleanliness as the district administration would make no compromise on unhygienic condition or substandard quality food items, he added. He said that drive against profiteers should continue and urged the shopkeepers to display prominently price list at their outlets to ensure that masses get household commodities at the prescribed prices.

Referring cleanliness and waste management issues, the DC said that concerned department should strictly monitor their staff to ensure that waste which was usually piled up at different places of the city was disposed timely and regularly in order to provide clean and healthy environment to people of the district.
