Diwali Preparations In Full Swing In Mirpurkhas

MIRPURKHAS, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Oct, 2016 ) : The members of Hindu community in Mirpurkhas division are making preparations for celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, on October 30.
The purchase of new clothes, Mehdi, bangles and general commodities is in full swing by the members of Hindu community. The sale of crackers and sweet also rises in Mirpurkhas on Diwali. Home decoration and lighting of oil lamps are the two most prominent features of this festival.
Member of National Assembly (MNA) Lal Malhi told APP that Diwali conveys the message of happiness and liveliness. Rano Thakur Kolhi, a resident of Marvi Town Mirpurkhas, said Hindus living in Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad, Umerkot, Tharparkar, and other parts of the country would also celebrate Diwali by worship and lighting oil lamps outside temples and their houses.
All the temples are decorated for special Pooja (worship). The Sindh government has already issued advanced salaries to government employers belonging to the Hindu community for celebrating Diwali. District Chairman Mirpurkhas Mir Anwer Talpure, in a message on the eve of Diwali, congratulated the members of Hindu community on their Festival of Lights.
