Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan To Inaugurate 2nd Phase Of 'Jashn-e-Rawalpindi On Friday

Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan will inaugurate three-day musical concert on Friday, being organized under second phase of the family festival 'Jashn-e-Rawalpindi
Chairman, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi, Asif Mehmood said that the PHA was organizing a musical concert to provide recreation to the residents of the twin cities.
He informed that renowned singers including Arif Lohar, Asim Azhar, Sian Zahoor and others would perform at the musical concert and enthrall the audience.
He said, the family festival kicked off on April 21. It has been organized by PHA and would continue till April 28.
The festival was in full swing and a large number of citizens were visiting the fair, he added.
Asif Mehmood informed that the Authority had made all-out efforts to organize a beautiful festival and was trying to ensure maximum participation of families besides students in the festival.
He said the college and university students had also been allotted stalls.
The Chairman said, the main festival had been organized at Shamsabad Park. The PHA arranged a beautiful festival and different parks and roads were decorated beautifully for 'Jashn-e-Rawalpindi', he added.
To a question, he informed that the swings, food stalls, cut flower, magic and bird shows, book exhibition, face-painting and shopping area had been arranged in Shamsabad Park and other recreational facilities were also provided to the citizens.
"The basic aim of the festival is to provide an opportunity to the citizens to have fun during this spring season," he added.
He said the PHA was also making efforts during the festival to sensitize the people to come forward and actively participate in the clean and green programme of the government.
The event was something beyond recreation to provide a unique platform to the citizens particularly the families for having health, education, entertainment and other amusement facilities, he said.
He informed that the authority was trying to promote a healthy environment, adding PHA was making all out efforts to make the city green and attractive by maintaining greenbelts, various roads and public parks.
The lightening, beautification and various decorated stalls have turnedthe park into a beautiful spot, he added.
