An amount of Rs 55 million was recovered from traffic rules violators through 400,000 e-challans during last three months.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd April, 2019) The e-challan system introduced by Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) has proved to be effective as it managed to bring millions to the national exchequer.
The Electronic Ticketing Center (ETC) of Punjab PSCA since the inception of Electronic Challaning on September 23, has issued thousands of E-challans which ensured a deposit of millions of rupees to the national exchequer.
According to reports, an amount of Rs 55 million was recovered from traffic rules violators through 400,000 e-challans during last three months.
The violations currently being observed, and updated periodically, includes over-speeding, line and lane, one-way and signal jumping.
The motorists within the CCTV fencing of provincial capital received more than 350,000 tickets for signal jumping, 50,000 tickets for over-speeding and 10,000 tickets for one-way and lane violations respectively.
The PSCA ensured collection of fine amounts from the adamant defaulters with multiple unpaid e-challans by intercepting them enroute through vigilant ground forces of Dolphin Squad, CTPL and PRU tipped from IC3.
The motorists have been advised to pay the e-challans as they received, to avoid interception by police teams and resulting nuisance.
E-challans can be paid in all branches of both National Bank of Pakistan and Bank of Punjab. The status of e-challans can be checked by giving number of CNIC and vehicle registration number on ECHALLAN.PSCA.GOP.PK.
