Ebad Takes Notice Of Non-payment Of Salaries To KU Employees

KARACHI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd August, 2016) : Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has taken strict notice of the non-payment of salaries to the employees of the University of Karachi. A Governor House official said here on Wednesday that Ebad warned the Karachi University administration that this should not happen again. He said that on the directive of the Governor, a meeting was held on Wednesday. It was chaired by the Adviser to the Governor on Higher Education, Syed Wajahat Ali, which looked in to the matter pertaining to non-payment of salaries. Dr. Raza Bhatti, Vice-Chancellor Karachi University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qaiser, also attended the meeting. The meeting looked into causes of the non-payment of salaries on time to Karachi University employees.

It was also pointed out that it was not correct to blame the HEC. The Vice-Chancellor had been urging the University's Finance Department for timely payment of salaries to the employees of the institution.

However, the Department did not make any worthwhile efforts. The meeting also issued a warning to the Director Finance of the University and asked him not to repeat this again. Dr. Qaiser also asked the HEC to release one time special grant to Karachi University for improving its financial affairs. He was of the view that he has no complaint against HEC for the delay in payment of salaries to the University's employees.
