Education Minister Inaugurates Smart Lab,multi-media Classrooms

LAHORE, Nov 2 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Nov, 2016 ) : Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said provision of quality education is a top priority of the Punjab government.
Addressing an inauguration ceremony of a smart lab and multi-media classrooms at Government Girls High school, Gulshan Ravi, here on Wednesday, he said the latest technology was being utilised for modern education.
"The latest gadgets are essential to meet demands of the current era and modern gadgets will help enhance performance of students," he added. Rana Mashhood said revolutionary steps were being taken for the promotion of education under the visionary leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
He said smart interactive boards and tablets were being provided to 2,000 government schools of Punjab under the pilot project.
"In multi-media classrooms, trained teachers will use digital content having videos, animations, simulations and assessments that will also facilitate self-learning," he said.
He said private tuition would also be reduced gradually and quality of teaching would be improved. He said that students would be able to revise their lectures at smart lab, adding that digital content of science and math of grade 6 to 10 was being taught by multi-media classrooms.
Secretary Schools Abdul Jabbar Shaheen said on the occasion the government started pilot implementation of "e- Learn Punjab" at eight schools of Punjab. The minister also inaugurated kids lab for the nursery group.
