Effective Measures Being Taken To Overcome Power Crisis In Skardu District

Senior Minister for Water and Power Gilgit Baltistan Akbar Taaban said Wednesday solid measures were being made to overcome power crisis in Skardu district.
ASTORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Dec, 2018 ) :Senior Minister for Water and Power Gilgit Baltistan Akbar Taaban said Wednesday solid measures were being made to overcome power crisis in Skardu district.
Talking to media persons, the GB senior minister said as part of such measures, rented generators would be utilized to provide uninterrupted power supply to the localities of the Skardu district which usually experienced frequent power outages.
He was of the view that unnecessary consumption of power and decrease of water level in Siddra dam had caused power shortage for the areas and the government had worked out strategy involving short and long term measures to tide over the crisis, he added.
He said that the government mulled to converge Shutang stream into Siddarra dam and PC-I had been prepared to materialize the plan.
However, he urged all the political parties to avoid politicizing issues of masses' interest in order to timely complete the development projects in the area.
