Eid-ul-Azha: Nawaz Sharif To Sacrifice Over A Dozen Animals In Jail

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th August, 2018) Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, incarcerated in Adiala Jail over corruption charges, will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha in jail.
According to sources, Nawaz Sharif will sacrifice over a dozen animals in the jail. The meat will be distributed among prisoners and jail employees.
Sources further said that special arrangements have been made in jail to hold Eid prayers. The prisoners will have an open invitation to offer Eid prayers while Nawaz Sharif will greet fellow prisoners after the prayers.
Earlier in the morning, during his hearing in Accountability Court-II in the Al-Azizia and Flagship Investment references, a journalist asked Nawaz Sharif if he would be spending Eid-ul-Azha outside the jail. To this, Nawaz Sharif replied, “May Allah fulfil your wish.
”
Earlier, he had celebrated Independence Day with fellow prisoners. According to media reports, Nawaz Sharif had ordered three cakes of 10 lbs each. He cut the cake and celebrated Independence Day in the jail.
An accountability court had on July 6 given 11 years imprisonment to Nawaz Sharif, seven years to Maryam Nawaz and one year to Capt (r) Safdar in Avenfield property judgment.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were arrested from the Lahore airport on July 13 and were transferred to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi. Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are being kept in B-class of Adiala Jail. The B-class jail has facilities such as a 21-inch television, newspapers, a bed and fan.
