Eid Ul Fitr Celebrated Amid Tight Security

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2018 ) :Like the other parts of the country, Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday was celebrated by the faithful here with great religious zeal and fervor marking the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan.
The day dawn with special Eid sermons where Ulema and Khateeb stressed for the unity of Muslim Ummah and prayed for prosperity and well being of the country.
All important public and private buildings including shopping center were decorated and illuminated to mark the occassion.
Following the Eid prayers sweets and other special dishes were prepared for serving the guests.
People also exchanged gifts and elders given "eidi" to children to share the joys.
Meanwhile, foolproof security measures were adopted to avert any untoward incident.
As many as 4,000 armed policemen were deputed at religious, public and private buildings, mosques and Imambargahs.
City Traffic Police (CTP) has also chalked out a comprehensive traffic plan for Murree on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to facilitate the tourists.
According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Capt � Bilal Ifthikar, 1,000 traffic wardens had been deployed in Murree to implement a special traffic plan devised for the tourist resort.
He said that entry of heavy vehicles was banned in Murree during Eid days.
Chief Traffic officer urged the tourists to observe traffic rules properly for resolving traffic issues and avoid traffic jams on the roads of Murree.
Meanwhile, 400 rescuers performed duty to cope with any emergency on Eid-ul-Fitr, informed spokesman of Rescue 1122.
The Rescue 1122 staff remained on special duties in Rawalpindi district control room and emergency rescue stations with 30 fully equipped emergency ambulances, nine fire vehicles, fiverescue and recovery vehicles, two water bowzers, two specialize vehicles and 45motorbike ambulances.
