Election Campaign In Full Swing In NA-46 Constituency In Kurram

Like other parts of the country, the residents of constituency NA-46 in District Kurram of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been keenly campaigning for their candidates as they desire that their representatives in assemblies solve their day to day problems and bring prosperity to their area.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jul, 2018 ) :Like other parts of the country, the residents of constituency NA-46 in District Kurram of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been keenly campaigning for their candidates as they desire that their representatives in assemblies solve their day to day problems and bring prosperity to their area.

Around 25 candidates are taking part in the forthcoming general election and four candidates have strengthened their position. These strong candidates are former MNA Sajid Hussain Turi contesting election from PPP platform while Ibrar Husain, Ali Begum and Muhammad Hussain Turi are contesting election as independents.

Talking to APP here on Monday Sajid Hussain Turi said that 337,865 were registered voters in Kurram District out of which 1 93,244 were male and 144,621 female votes.

He said that Kurram District have two seats of National Assembly including NA-45 and NA-46 adding that this area has many problems like lack of basic facilities of health and low enrollment of children in schools due to missing facilities and unqualified teachers.

To a question, he said that provision of health, education and job opportunities were most top priorities of Pakistan People's Party.

Ali Begum said, "I am first woman who is taking part in the upcoming election from NA-46 after the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). I am contesting because I want to solve problems of the people."She said women of her area were interested in actively participating in the democratic system.

She said indicators of education were not good in her area which was remote and hilly and it was difficult for children to travel long distances to study in schools.
