Election Commission Of Pakistan To Receive Nomination Papers For By-elections Till Thursday

Nomination papers for by-elections in two constituencies of Faisalabad district would be received up to Thursday (Aug 30), a spokesman of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Regional Office said on Wednesday.
FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2018 ) :Nomination papers for by-elections in two Constituencies of Faisalabad district would be received up to Thursday (Aug 30), a spokesman of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Regional Office said on Wednesday.
He said that District Election Commissioner-I Hameedullah Khalid and District Election Commissioner-II Muhammad Khalil were appointed as Returning Officers for NA-103 (Faisalabad-III) and PP-103 (Faisalabad-VII), respectively and they were receiving nomination papers for by-elections in these constituencies.
He said that elections were postponed in these two constituencies due to suicide of a contesting candidate Mirza Muhammad Ahmed Mughal.
He said that scrutiny of nomination papers would be held on September 4 and appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers would be received up to September 8 and the Appellate Tribunal would decide the same up to September 13.
The final list of contesting candidates would be released on September 14 and candidates could withdraw their candidature up to September 15, 2018.
Electoral symbols would be allotted to the candidates on September 16, while polling would be held on October 14, he added.
