Elections Process Smoothly Coming To Its End: AJK CEC

MUZAFFARABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21th july, 2016) : The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AJK Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mughal has said that election process is smoothly coming to its conclusion in transparent and impartial manner. He was talking to media while visiting to different polling stations of LA-3 Mirpur-III.

He was also accompanied by AJK Chief Secretary Sultan Sikander and IGP Bashir Memen. Earlier he was received by Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Pervez Amjad Ali, DIG Mirpur Sardar Gulfraz Khan, DC Ch.

Muhammad Iqbal and Election Security Incharge Mirpur Division Brigadier Muhammad Faisal and others at Helipad while coming from Rawalakot. On the occasion he visited several polling stations and enquired about the polling process from polling staff and expressed his confidence over law enforcement agencies for maintenance of peace during the polling process.

Replying to questions he was of the view that overall law and order situation remained under control however few light incidents took place which not only were thwarted but persons involved were arrested on spot and were given punishment as well.

He said foolproof security arrangements had been made to meet the challenge. The AJK Chief Secretary Sultan Sikander on the occasion said that no stone was left unturned to ensure security for whole election process and provide security both for voters and polling staffers which was a big challenge, he added. He said the Army and Police provided a friendly and peaceful environment to the voters for casting their votes according to their will.
