Electoral Reforms Process In Final Stages

ISLAMABAD, Jan 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : The sub-committee on electoral reforms on Wednesday has invited suggestions and proposals from all political parties for amendments in the constitution as electoral reforms process has been entered into final stages.

Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid after attending the in-camera meeting of the sub-committee told media that they have sought final proposals from all parliamentary political parties.

He added that these parties would give their political opinion and proposals within one week.

The minister said the committee in its next meeting would considered the amendments in the constitution after getting proposals from the parties in this regard. The meeting also discussed constitutional amendments regarding electoral reform package, he said and added, the matter of overseas voting and use of electronic bio-metric machines have been handed over to the committee.
