English, Urdu debate competitions held at IUB in connection with Independence Day

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Aug, 2024) Directorate of Student Affairs, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and IUB Debating Society organized a series of events to celebrate the Independence Day of Pakistan with enthusiasm and national spirit. In this regard, with the efforts of IUB Debating Site and IUB Kashmir and Nazaria e Pakistan Society, an urdu and English debate was organized at VC Secretariat, Abbasia Campus.

The title of the Urdu debate was "Freedom changes the destiny of nations" and the title of the English debate was "Freedom determines the destiny of a nation".

On this occasion, Additional Director Student Affairs Dr. Muhammad Adnan Bukhari was the chief guest and the guests of honor included Advisor IUB Debating Society Dr.

Muhammad Asif Nadeem, President IUB Kashmir and Nazaria e Pakistan Society Fahad Mahmood.

Assistant Professor Dr. Nausheen Malik from the education Department and Ezza Shakeel from English Linguistics Department served as judges. More than 15 speakers participated in the competitions.

In the Urdu debate, Abdul Basit from the Biotechnology Department got first position, Malik Hanzala from BBA Technology Management got second position and Shanza Gull from BBA Technology Management got third position.

In the English category, Hifza Naz from Applied Psychology won the first position, Manahil Fatima from the Physical Therapy Department won the second position, and Isbah Noor from the Physical Therapy Department won the third position.
