
EPA Sealed 93 Sites In Anti-dengue Drive

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th August, 2016) :District Officer Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)Azhar Iqbal said on Wednesday that the Agency sealed 93 sites as part of its ongoing anti-dengue drive in different areas of the city during the last six month. The EPA teams visited 23,692 sites including 15409 tyre shops and 9281 junkyards. During inspection of dengue breeding sites , the squads issued notices to 166 owners where SOPs regarding dengue were not being followed. Talking to APP, the District Officer said he himself is monitoring dengue breeding points in the city and the whole process is being checked through Punjab Government Dengue Online Android System.
He said the squads are visiting various areas and updating dengue progress images and details on Dengue Android Software. He said the government is utilizing all resources to check the spread of the killing virus.
He said that like other directorates of EPA,the Dengue directorate is working efficiently in all parts of the district to cope with dengue. He said besides government departments, the general public has to come forward as without their participation the government alone can not eliminate dengue
