
ESA Imparts Safety Training To 20 Officials Centaurus Group

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th August, 2016) : The Emergency Services Academy (ESA) has become a National Centre of Excellence through imparting professional training of disaster management, community safety and awareness. Addressing the officials of Centaurus Group here on Saturday, Director General ESA (Rescue 1122) Brig (R) Amir Hamza said that the workforce consisted of 16,000 rescuers and emergency professionals in all provinces of Pakistan.
He said that besides training our own rescuers, the Academy is also educating and providing training to different public and private organisations. In case of any disaster, the trained emergency professionals of other organisations would come forward and work shoulder-to-shoulder with Rescue 1122, he added. Course Coordinator Marine Engr Abrar Hassan informed the DG that the academy had trained 20 professionals of the Centaurus Group by giving them training and hands-on practice pertaining to fire, rescue, medical, height rescue, urban search and rescue, deep well rescue and flood management.
Later, DG Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Brig (R) Dr Arshad Zia, while presiding over a ceremony, distributed completion certificates among successful officials. He maintained that Rescue 1122 is committed to establishing safer communities in Punjab through continuous training, and producing emergency professionals in the province.
He also congratulated the officials of Centaurus Group. The group leader, Lt-Cdr (R) Tariq Mahmood, Manager Safety, Fire Fighting & Risk Assessment Centaurus Group, thanked the officers, instructors and administration of the Academy for hosting such fruitful training course.
