ESAP Launches Tree Plantation Drive

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july, 2016) : The Emergency Services academy Punjab (ESAP) with the cooperation of Punjab forest department, parks & horticulture authority and FWO would plant more than 7,500 saplings of trees during the current Monsoon season. Presiding over a meeting here at Emergency Services Academy on Tuesday, DG Emergency Services Academy Amir Hamza directed the rescuers to take maximum advantage of the monsoon season and plant saplings to improve the environment.
Amir Hamza said that concerted efforts were needed to supplement global environment protection efforts not only to achieve cleaner and greener future for coming generations but also to stem the tide of climate change resulting in manifold increase in the natural disasters/emergencies.
Rescue 1122 DG Dr Arshad Zia has also directed all districts emergency officers to start plantation campaign through community participation to make healthy and friendly living environment all over the Punjab.
He appreciated the initiative taken by DG Emergency Services Academy Amir Hamza, who launched a Monsoon tree-plantation campaign by planting thousands of saplings inside and outside the training institution. As per details, Rescue 1122 planted thousands of saplings each year under the aegis of Rescue Environment Protection and Improvement Driver (REPAID).
The REPAID and rescuers planted trees not only in their own complexes but also in adjoining areas.
