E&T Dept. Collects Rs 30213 Millions Taxes Till November'18: Chawla

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Dec, 2018 ) :Excise and Taxation (E&T) Department, Sindh has collected Rs 30213.342 million as provincial taxes during current fiscal year from July to November 2018 while Rs 24934.605 million were collected during the same period of last financial year.
This was informed in a meeting chaired by provincial minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla here on Sunday. Secretary Excise and Taxation Abdul Rahim Shaikh, Director Generals Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and Directors of the department also attended the meeting.
While briefing the meeting, Director General Shabbir Ahmed Shaikh informed that Rs 3033.051 million were collected in term of Motor Vehicle Tax, Rs 23389.
312 million in term of Infrastructure Cess and Rs 229.265 million were collected as Professional Tax, Rs 124.525 million as Cotton fee, Rs 1296.424 million as Property tax, Rs 26.982 million as Entertainment Duty while remaining amount was collected in heads of various other taxes.
Expressing satisfaction over tax recovery progress,the provincial minister directed the officers to speed up recovery of the taxes and facilitate the people.
He also asked the DG E&T to chalk out a comprehensive plan for next road checking camping to nab the tax defaulting vehicles.
He also advised the owners of the tax defaulting vehicles to deposit their due taxes to avoid any inconvenience.
