Exploitation Of Sugarcane Growers Not To Be Tolerated: Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar

Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar Thursday said that exploitation of sugarcane growers in the district would not be tolerated as middlemen would be discouraged.
FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2018 ) -:Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar Thursday said that exploitation of sugarcane growers in the district would not be tolerated as middlemen would be discouraged.
Presiding over a meeting here, he said that district administration would monitor sugarcane crushing in the district.
He directed the Industries department to check all weighing scales set up by the mills in different areas immediately and also take legal action against the scales found in less weight of commodity.
The DC directed the sugar mills administration to facilitate the farmers at all sorts and avoid cut in weight besides ensuring timely payment.
He directed the ACs to activate the monitoring committees set up at tehsil level for supervising the crushing season.
Sardar Saifullah said the government has fixed Rs 180 per mound price of sugarcane which be publicised at prominent places.
Director Agriculture informed that sugarcane was sown at over 237,585 acres land in the district. Five sugar mills were functional while others would start crushing by the end of current month, he added.
