Farming As A Profession On The Decline: UAF VC

FAISALABAD, Jan 2 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Jan, 2017 ) : Vice Chancellor University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan has said it is a matter of grave concern that due to low profitability, heavy post-harvest loses, marketing and other challenges, farming as a profession is on the decline.
He was addressing the teaching and administrative staff of the university during a meeting at the Staff Club, UAF, here on Monday. He urged researchers to come up with viable solutions to the problems of farming community.
He said that the government was taking steps to address problems of the farming community. He said that Punjab agriculture policy was being redesigned in order to uplift the sector keeping the needs of modern era in view. UAF Principal Officer Public Relations and Publications Prof Dr Jalal Arif also spoke on the occasion.
