FCCI to be given representation in all divisional, district advisory committees: Commissioner

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Dec, 2018 ) ::FCCI will be given representation in all divisional and district advisory committees to ensure effective participation of the business community in the overall development of Faisalabad, said Divisional Commissioner Asif Iqbal Chaudhry.

He said this while addressing a meeting, along with Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, in FCCI, here on Wednesday.

He said that private sector has experience to undertake development and welfare projects. Hence its participation in these committees would ensure effectiveness of the committees. A notification in this connection will be issued very soon, he added.

He categorically told that Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) members will be included in Sugarcane Cess Committee, FDA, FWMC and other similar public sector entities.

He stressed the need to promote effective relationship between government institutions and business community as they can yield much better results in collaboration with each other.

Quoting the example of Clean and Green Pakistan, he said that FCCI has donated maximum saplings which have turned Faisalabad into a lush green city in addition to control environmental pollution.

Responding to a question, he said that he has recommended a grant of Rs 20 million for immediate repair and maintenance of roads around Hockey Stadium.

Regarding allotment of shops in Hockey Stadium Madina Town, he told that he is forwarding a reference to FIA for further investigation.

Regarding tragic incident of APS, he told that divisional administration will organize a function to commemorate the sacrifices of students of this school.

He also asked President FCCI to display banners containing the pictures of martyrs of APS on December 15-16.

Regional Police officer Ghulam Mehmood Dogar underlined the importance of community policing to improve overall law and order situation in the division.

He also assured that the forum of Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) would be restored with certain changes in its organization and including elected parliamentarians in it.

Responding to a question, he said that online facility has been provided in all Khidmat Markaz and police stations. People can now get their complaints registered through this online system without visiting concerned police station.

Earlier, President FCCI Syed Zia Alumdar Hussain in his welcome address mentioned the role of FCCI in social and public welfare projects and demanded that FCCI should be given proper representation in all advisory committees established in this division.

Later, FCCI shields were presented to Divisional Commissioner Asif Iqbal Chaudhry and RPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.
