Fed Govt To Formulate Long Standing Policy For Economic Development : Governor Sindh

The Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has said that the federal government has been engaged in formation of longstanding policy for economic development of the country, which he said at the verge of destruction due to policies of the past governments.

The Governor Sindh expressed these remarks while addressing the reception hosted by the Kotri Association of Trade and Industry at its Kotri office on Tuesday.
He said that the well reputed financial experts are the part of the team which is being headed by the Federal Finance Minister Asad Umer and the time is not far when the business community would receive a comprehensive economic policy which would definitely achieve the goals required for boosting the economy of the country.
The decisions which have been recently taken by the federal government were because of bringing the country out from economic crisis, the governor said while referring the enhancement of the gas tariff adding that the economy of the country has almost destroyed and there is the need to inject it for boosting through difficult decisions.
However, he said once the policies initiated and the economy of the country moved on right track, the countrymen particularly the business community would definitely receive the fruits of the government efforts.
After passage of hundred days, the Governor said that the people would surely witness the country moving towards new Pakistan on right direction. The government of Prime Minister Imran Khan received no big surprise about the deteriorated economy of the country as the team members fully aware of the fact of vulnerability of the national exchequer, Imran Ismail said and added that soon after taking over the charge of the country, the Prime Minister Imran Khan had guided the policy of austerity banning on all unnecessary expenditures.
He said that the recent measures of the federal government had communicated clear message that reduction of unnecessary expenditure from top level should be curtailed at the bottom with objective to encourage the simplicity in the affairs of the government.
The Pakistan was moving towards landslide bankrupsy and there was no other option to slash subsidies which given to different sectors, he said and added that while enhancing the gas tariff, the federal government had made sure that poor and middle class people could not be affected with increase in gas price.
There is the need to accept some hard decisions of the federal government which it initiated to save the country from bankrupsy, he said and added that the people would soon witness a clear change in all matters when the country would move towards right path of progress and prosperity.
The Governor said that the federal government had discouraged the import of luxurious and unnecessary items aimed to save the valuable foreign reserves. The industrial sector of the country has great potential to manufacture such items which could help in enhancing the foreign reserves through export, he added.
The Governor called upon the business community to give suggestions and recommendations to federal government for enhancement of exports. The government would consider the same for the betterment of the country, he assured.
The Governor informed that he had formed a Karachi based committee under his supervision having representation of different bodies of business community in order to review the issues and hurdles and get them resolved by approaching the federal government on monthly basis.
Being the member of the business community, the Governor informed that he was fully aware of the issues and would make all out efforts to resolve the same at the earliest. He also called upon the business community of Hyderabad and Kotri to form such type of committee so that they could raise their issues with suggestion and recommendations for resolving issues. The Governor assured that his doors would remain opened for the business community of the province.
Earlier, the President Kotri Association of Trade and Industry Asif Memon in his welcome address highlighted the issues being faced by the industrialists and traders of Kotri.
