
Federal Govt. Provides Best Healthcare Facilities In Tribal Areas: APA

BAJAUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Augst,2016) : Additional Political Agent Bajaur, Muhammad Irfanuddin Khan was making all out efforts to provide basic and modern health facilities to the people of tribal areas. This he said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of World Breastfeeding Week held at Agency head quarters hospital Khar on Thursday. Local health department, Mother Neonatal and Child Health (MNCH) programme in collaboration with Unicef arranged the event aimed at rising importance of breastfeeding for mother and baby in the agency. Tribal elders, Ulema, social activists, health specialists, and senior officials of the administration and health department attended the event. Speaking on the occasion, Additional Political Agent said that the Federal government was determined to provide best health care facilities to the people of agency especially the people who living in remote and far-flung areas. He said that huge amounts have been allocated for the health care facilities in the annual development programme in the tribal areas in the current fiscal year.
The Additional Political Agent asked the health officials to accelerate their efforts to ensure health facilities to maximum number of people in the agency. He also advised the officials to focus on the provision of basic and modern health facilities to the people of backward and remote areas as such areas had been deprived of health services since along. On the occasion, Agency surgeon Bajaur Dr Wazir Khan Safi, Medical superintendent Agency headquarters hospital Khar Dr Ikramullah Khan highlighting the importance of breastfeeding. They said that the theme of world breastfeeding week is to raising awareness of links between breastfeeding and sustainable development goals.
Later, the participants also held a walk to highlight the importance of breastfeeding.
