Fine Of Rs 37.1 Mln Imposed On 1112 Pilferers In October

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Nov, 2018 ) ::Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) teams alongwith task forces imposed fine of Rs 37.1 million on 1112 power pilferers in 13 districts of Multan region in October last.
According to MEPCO spokesperson, the teams alongwith task forces and police checked 13,869 connections of various categories and caught 1112 consumers while stealing electricity through illegal means.
As many as 876 applications were sent to various police stations while cases have been lodged against 205 power pilferers during the same period.
Chief Executive Officer Engineer Muhammad Akram Malik directed the superintending engineers (SEs) of all circles to raid against power pilferers without any discrimination.
He ordered to remove installations of defaulters and not installed connections till payment of dues. He directed SEs to get report from checking teams on daily basis and submit it to MEPCO Headquarters.
