First esophago-gastric symposium at Civil Hospital in collaborations of DUHS

KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 17th March, 2019) Vice chancellor of DUHS Prof. Muhammed Saeed Quraishy said after achieving excellence in Robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, we have to look at the changing situation of future.He said this while addressing Pakistan's first Oesophago-gastric symposium as a cheif guest.

The Symposium was organized by Dow University of Health Sciences with the collaboration of Civil hospital.The symposium that started on 13th March ended on Sunday evening, during which not only practical training was given in OT complex of civil hospital but also National and international experts shared their experiences regarding Robotic and laparoscopic surgery with the participants of symposium.Prof.

Muhammed Saeed Quraishy stressed participants on learning modern techniques from the experts of UK, UAE and Singapore regarding oesophago-gastric surgery. He further said that Civil hospital is the first hospital in the public sector where facility of robotic surgery is present from several years.

He said that DUHS, today is the largest and most comprehensive health science system in Pakistan, with clinical care and research expertise of more than six decades.

Experts from abroad Dr. Syed Yousuf Iftikhar, Dr. Amir khan, Dr. Khurshid Akhtar, Dr. Asif Chaudhry, Dr. Javed Raza, Dr. Asim basheer shared their experiences about oesophagogastric diseases and their treatment.

Experts from Pakistan Dr. Mumtaz Mehr, Dr. Inaam pal, Brigadier Bilal Umer, Dr. Wasey M. Jilani, Dr. Nadeem Khurshidi, Dr. Hasnain Zafar, Dr. Shahab Abid, Dr. Arsalan Ahmed and Dr. Amir Bilal gave presentation.The chairperson of symposium Dr.

Sajida Quraishy said that in first 3 days of symposium in Civil hospital suturing regarding robotic and laparoscopic surgery was taught. During this several patients were operated free of cost in O.T complex of civil hospital, which were observed by participants of symposium through cameras and they asked their queries with the experts.
