SWAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2025) At least five children and two young brothers lost their lives in two tragic rain-related incidents here, according to Rescue 1122.
The first incident occurred in the Gujar Band Shanko area of Madyan, where the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rainfall, thus burying three children alive. A woman also sustained injuries in the incident; however, she was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
In a separate heartbreaking incident in Sore Dherai, Malam Jabba, two young brothers were swept away by a rain-fed stream.
Rescue teams recovered the bodies from the water and handed them over to the family.
Due to continuous rainfall, the water levels in rain-fed streams and the Swat River have significantly increased, posing serious risks to residents in low-lying areas.
Authorities have urged the public to take precautions and avoid going near rivers and vulnerable structures during the monsoon season.
