Five percent minorities' quota being ensured in Govt jobs: PA told

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was informed on Friday that the provincial government was implementing five percent quota for minorities in the government jobs and in case of violation, strict action would be taken against such departments

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jul, 2020 ) :Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was informed on Friday that the provincial government was implementing five percent quota for minorities in the government jobs and in case of violation, strict action would be taken against such departments.

KP Minister for food Qalandar Lodhi and Minister for Labour Shaukat Yousafzai responding to Call Attention Notice of Minorities' MPA Ranjit Singh told the House that all departments are implementing the minorities quota and if someone identifies the complaint in any advertisement the government would take action against the department.

Shaukat Yousafzai said that minority are enjoying freedom, equal rights and protection in Pakistan and the government is strictly implementing their rights and has been allocating funds in the annual budget for their welfare.

He assured the House that if any department was pointed out for not observing the minority quota in jobs the government would take legal action.

Earlier Minorities MPA Ranjit Singh on his call attention notice said that some departments were not implementing the minority quota and they didn't even mention minorities seats in their advertisements.

Meanwhile PTI MPA Ayesha Bano on her call attention notice said that the government was spending huge money on training of investigation officers on each posting and termed it wastage of money, she suggested that such officers should be deployed for not less than a period of three to four years in a department.

Minister for Food Qalandar Lodhi responded that an investigation officer was deployed to a department for a minimum of two-year period and if deems necessary they were appointed on deputation basis in other departments. He however said that such practice has stopped now.

Later, the KP assembly unanimously passed KP Khasadar Force amendment bill 2020 while KP Local Government (Amendment) ordinance 2020 was presented in the House.
