Football Legends Ricardo Kaka, Luis Figo Arrive In Karachi

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jan, 2019 ) :Football legends Ricardo Kaka and Luis Figo on Thursday said that there were vast opportunities available for the promotion of sports particularly football in Pakistan.

Addressing a ceremony held to kick off World Soccer stars 2019 in the country at a local hotel Brazilian footballer Kaka said that visit to Pakistan was an honor for him. He said that he had never been to Pakistan. He expressed the hope that their visit would prove to be fruitful for the promotion of football in the country.

Ricardo Kaka said that there was great passion for football in Pakistan.

Former captain of Portugal Luis Figo on the occasion said that football was loved by many in Karachi. He said that there was huge talent of football present in Karachi however due to lack of opportunities the footballers were unable to explore their talents.

Inviting Pakistan football coach Jose Antonio Nogueira on to the stage, he said that they would come with 10 legends in April to play a match.

Luis Figo was asked did he support the Real Madrid or not upon which he replied that obviously he supported Real Madrid as being its member. When asked which of the two Ronaldos - Cristiano or the Brazilian footballer was better, Figo replied that he could not choose one and said that he had played with both of them.

On the occasion, Pakistan football team captain Saddam Hussain and midfielder Saadullah also attended the event. Saddam Hussain presented the Pakistan jersey and thanked the duo for coming to Pakistan.

TouchSky Group CEO Ahmer Kunwar on the occasion said that his group was going to present a mega event of football in the country. He said that through World Soccer Stars, the soft-image of Pakistan would be promoted across the globe. Two matches of World Soccer Stars will be held from April 26 to 29 in Karachi and Lahore.

Earlier, the former Real Madrid superstars arrived in the city in the afternoon and were presented traditional Sindhi Ajrak and Cap.
