Forest Dept Seizes Huge Quantity Of Smuggled Timber

Forest department Mansehra on Monday seized a huge quantity of timber from two vehicles and imposed heavy fine on the smugglers during crackdown at Gidarpur range.
MANSEHRA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Nov, 2018 ) :Forest department Mansehra on Monday seized a huge quantity of timber from two vehicles and imposed heavy fine on the smugglers during crackdown at Gidarpur range.
This was stated by the District Forest Officer (DFO) Manshera, Mehrban Shah while talking to media men here.
While giving details of the crackdown against timber smugglers, he said acting on tip off, the department's concerned staff started tracking the smugglers and nabbed them red handed when they were transporting two vehicles full of illegal timber from Gidarpur forest range.
Mehrban Shah said "we have confiscated the timber and also imposed heavy fine of Rs 0.2 million on the smugglers".
During the raid, the smugglers also tried to flee and started firing on the forest party but owing to good planning the smugglers were apprehended red handed.
