The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FPCCI) Wednesday hailed the Supreme Court of Pakistan for lifting the 18-month old ban on the construction of six floors plus buildings in Karachi.
FPCCI President Ghazanfar Bilour and other senior members of the federation in a joint statement also congratulated the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) on the lifting of the ban.
They hoped that lifting of ban will help the construction and housing industry in not only generating revenue but also recreate phenomenal opportunities for the people associated with the construction industry.
The decision, they said, would enhance employment opportunities for the people associated with construction and allied industries.
Shortage of housing facilities would also be addressed at a better level, said the FPCCI officials.
Ghazanfar Bilour, Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir (Senior Vice President of FPCCI), S.M. Muneer (former President FPCCI & former CEO TDAP), Zubair F. Tufail (former President of FPCCI) and Khalid Tawab (former Senior Vice President FPCCI) expressed their confidence that construction and housing industry will now be able to play a key role in the Prime Minister's initiative of constructing five million houses for the masses.
