Free Academic Books Distribution From February; Jam Mehtab

KARACHI, Jan 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Jan, 2017 ) : Sindh Minister for Education Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that free distribution of academic books will be initiated in February.
He said this while presiding over a meeting in his office, said a press release issued here on Tuesday. The books worth Rs. 16 billion will be distributed among the students of government schools, the Minister for Education added.
Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar informed that books will be distributed among the students of class 1 to 10. He said the over all process of books publication and distribution will cost around 1.
6 billion.
He added that transparency will be ensured and no negligence will be tolerated in this regard. The minister said that Sindh government is spending around 25 to 28 thousand on each student but unfortunately fail to achieve the desired results.
He further said that the standard of education was not improved due to lack of interest from concerned teachers and officers while the government is spending more on students as compared to private institutions. Dahar directed the Chairman Sindh Text Book board to ensure transparency in publication of academic books.
