Full Court Reference For Retiring Mr. Justice Mohammad Daud Khan

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th july, 2016) : A full court reference in honour of the retiring judge Justice Mohammad Daud Khan was held on Friday at Peshawar High Court Peshawar. Chief Justice, Peshawar High Court Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Mainkhel, a large number of Judges, DG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial academy, Additional Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Deputy Attorney General of Pakistan, members Pakistan Bar Council and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council, President and members, High Court Bar Association and District Bar Associations, Peshawar and D.I Khan attended the reference. On the occasion, rich tributes were paid to the meritorious services of Justice Mohammad Daud Khan.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Justice Peshawar High Court Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Mainkhel said Justice Mohammad Daud Khan possessed all the qualities required for a judge and he justified his elevation to the bench from all aspects.

The Chief Justice furthered said Justice Mohammad Daud Khan had always been an uncompromising believer in democracy and rule of law. Right from his student life till elevation to the bench, he had been actively participating in every movement related to the establishment and development of rule of law and in the course he had also faced the brunt of the same by serving terms many a times in the prison.

Not only in the popular lawyers` movement of 2007, but even in 1980s when the dictators tried to damage the rule of law, Justice Mohammad Daud Khan was in the forefront amongst the resistant and had to see the jail barracks and undergone many other ordeals. He said the words uttered in the honour of Justice Mohammad Daud Khan showed that the honourable Judge had really done well to the satisfaction of the legal fraternity.

The Chief Justice further said retirement was the inevitable end of every service and all of us have to face this event one day but in the retirement of Justice Mohammad Daud Khan, we would feel the loss of a professional, cooperative and very reasonable colleague who would always be remembered by the judicial and legal fraternity.

However, we along with coming generations will seek guidance from the work done and conduct and character demonstrated by his Lordship, the chief justice concluded.
