Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has commenced arduous task of upgradation and widening of Skardu-Jaglot road
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Feb, 2018 ) :Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has commenced arduous task of upgradation and widening of Skardu-Jaglot road. The road is only link between Gilgit and Skardu, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release Saturday said.
The project encompass 164 kilometer long road in most treacherous area all along Indus River.
Road design includes five tunnels one of which is eight kilometers long. The road when completed shall reduce Jaglot-Skardu traveling time from presently about eight hours to less than three hours.
The project will be completed in two years. The FWO has to its credit so many such challenging projects including 1,300 kilometer long historical KKH and thousands of KM road networks in difficult areas of Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Balochistan.
