GB Chief Minister Praises Chinese Grant, Seeks Assistance In Other Sectors

Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman Friday met Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing and discussed Rs 5 billion grant extended by China besides matters related to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)
In a meeting held here at CM House, GB CM praised China government for granting 100 beds for hospitals and sought Chinese assistance for providing machinery for breast cancer diagnosis and delivery beds for the hospitals.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM appealed Rs 50 million grant from Chinese government and said Rs 50 million would by contributed by GB government for payment of monthly stipend to disabled persons to make them useful citizens.
GB CM said the government would be provided infrastructure for Urban Transport in Gilgit Baltistan while Chine would be provided buses for the project.
He also said that heavy traffic would not be allowed on Karakorum Highway until work was completed at Tata Pani and urged the Chinese government to help complete the project timely.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing said that talks regarding transaction of rupees five billion has been initiated with Federal Government of Pakistan and would soon be provided to Gilgit-Baltistan government.
Yao Jing assured Chinese support for welfare of disabled persons, provision of machinery for breast cancer diagnosis besides matters pertaining to CPEC and other sectors.
He expressed desire to visit Gilgit-Baltistan to determine in which sectors the Chinese government could support the GB government.
