Ghani Contradicts Feature Published In Local Daily
PESHAWAR, Jan 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Jan, 2017 ) : The Spokesman of KP government Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani has contradicted a feature article published in Daily Aaj on December 26, 2016 and said that the article does not correspond to the factual data of the missing facilities in KP Government schools.
In a hand out issued here Tuesday Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said that the department or its respective officers were not contacted for latest information and data on facilities which were mentioned in the article.
The writer gives reference to a report on missing facilities, however, the data does not correspond to any of our reports. While clarifying the actual position, the spokesman told that since, 2013, the current government has taken all possible steps to reduce gap of missing facilities in schools and it achieved record completions of facilities in thousands of schools.
He said education is one of the key priority areas and focus of the current government. There are more than 28,000 schools in the province and the government has taken many steps to provide basic facilities to the schools.
According to details, since 2013 more than 12,000 Schools have been provided with clean drinking water facilities with an allocation of Rs.1.5 billion. More than 1 million girls and boys are benefiting from this facility.
Around 113,638 Schools have been provided with secured boundary walls since 2013. Almost 10,000 schools provided with electrification since 2013.
Over 16,000 schools are provided group toilets with the amount of 1.7 billion.
More than 12,000 new class rooms have been built. All government schools will have furniture by the end of 2017. Government has already allocated Rs.4 billion for furniture. More than 500 IT Labs have been established in government schools.
Moreover, 100 Interactive White Boards have been provided to schools to modernize learning skills of students. We are introducing Machine based paper checking in all boards of KP. Starting from this year EMR of Machine Checking of papers will eliminate human involvements in papers.
We have recently signed a contract with British Council to train 83,000 teachers on English as Medium of Instruction. Another Agreement has been signed with Jolly Phonics to train 45,000 teachers on English pronunciation to help improve teachers and student's pronunciation skills.
The Department is committed to provide further resources to all schools through conditional grant and Parent-Teachers Councils (PTCs) and available to provide further details on its current programs and projects.
