ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Dec, 2016 ) : Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Indian occupied Kashmir, Syed Ali Gilani has paid glowing tributes to noted freedom-fighters, Shamas-ul-Haq and Sofi Muhammad Akbar, on their anniversaries.
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), Syed Ali Gilani in a statement also paid homage to the two youth who were recently martyred by Indian troops in Bijbehara and Sopore areas. "Conscious nations can never afford to forget the sacrifices of brave sons of their soil and the best way to recall and remember their contribution is to refresh the pledge to honour their blood and not to be cowed down to surrender or compromise by the oppressive forces," he said.
The APHC Chairman said that Sofi Muhammad Akbar opposed the treason and betrayal by the tall leaders of his time and chose to live a modest life away from the glare and glamour of power.
"Shaheed Shamas-ul-Haq was a renowned and knowledgeable scholar who willingly chose to lead from the front the movement for islam and Azadi (freedom).
He had already rejected the philosophy and modules of secularism, socialism and secular democracy and had chosen the path of hardships to reach his much cherished goal," he said. Meanwhile, Syed Ali Gilani in a separate statement expressed serious concern over the deteriorating condition of ailing wife of illegally detained APHC spokesman, Ayaz Akbar.
He said, she is suffering from cancer and her condition is worsening with each passing day and doctors have advised her family to shift her to Delhi for further treatment. The APHC Chairman said that Ayaz Akbar continued to be lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu for the last 3 months and in his absence her further treatment was difficult.
