Gomal Zam Command Development Area Project To Be Completed By Sept 2018
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Jan, 2017 ) : Gomal Zam Command Area Development Project being executed at a cost of Rs 3 billion would be completed by September 2018, heralding socio-economic prosperity to the area.
According to an official source, under the project which was expected to bring green revolution in the area, as many as 393 water channels, having total length of 1000 kilometers would be constructed to irrigate agricultural land and would help give boost to economic activities.
Project Director Rab Nawaz said the mega project of Gomal Zam Commad Area Development would give impetus to agriculture development in area, which had been lying either barren or unproductive due to water scarcity, adding it would irrigate 87700 hectare of land in Kulachi, over 94000 hectare of Tank and about 8000 hectare of Dera Ismail Khan.
He said that project involved 20 km long roads network and water management facilities stretching over 2000 hectare of land like sprinkle and drop water irrigation. He said the work on all segments of the project was going ahead at a fast pace and would be completed within stipulated period of time, adding introduction of those facilities under the mega scheme would result in ensuring socio-economic development of the area.
