Governor Sindh briefed on NHA projects

A detailed briefing was given to Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on the development projects in progress under the National Highways Authority (NHA), here at the Governor House on Friday.

State Minister for Communications Murad Saeed, Federal Secretary for Communications Shoaib Abmed Siddiqui, Principal Secretary to the Governor Khaqan Murtaza, NHA Chairman Jawad Rafiq Malik, Inspector General Motorways A.D. Khwaja and Commissioner Karachi Saleh Ahmed Farooqui also attended the meeting, said an official statement.

Sindh Governor said with completion of the on-going communication projects, the people would get better traveling facilities.

He also directed the NHA officers to take account of the prospects of running heavy traffic on the Lyari Expressway and submit the report to him as soon as possible so that trucks and trailers carrying cargo to and from Karachi Port and other goods from the city could be directly linked to the Motorway M-9.

This would ease traffic flow on other city roads.

He also ordered the NHA authorities to submit a detailed report on current status of Malir Expressway and Mehran Expressway. And, the work on these important projects be immediately started.

The Governor said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government believed in services to the people , instead of making big claims and promises. That was why, he continued, all the Federal Ministers and Heads of Government organizations were taking every possible step to improve the performance aimed to provide better social and economic environment to the people.

State Minister for Communications Murad Saeed assured that he was personally monitoring the progress of the on-going communication projects and had issued directives to immediately start work on other projects.
