Govt committed to resolve health, education issues in capital: Tariq Fazal

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -7th Sept,2016) : Minister of State for Capital Administration & Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary on Wednesday said the government was committed to resolve health and education related issues of the Federal capital.

Speaking here at a first laptop distribution ceremony for the medical students of Shaheed Zulifqar All Bhutto Medical University, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), under Prime Ministers Laptop Scheme, he said that provision of quality education and better health facilites was governemnt's top priority The institutions of neighbouring countries have progressed rapdily especially in education and health sector, he said.

"We have to think about it seriously and we need to achieve the targets of development by using all resources". the minister added. He said, in the next phase the laptops would be distributed among more students besides faculty members of the university.

Highlighting the Prime Minister's Laptop Scheme, Tariq Fazal said that this scheme has been for entire country including far-flung areas.

Earlier, addressing the participants, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said that HEC has launched the project of smart university and the pilot project of smart classes.

The universities sub-campuses would also be established in all districts, aims at to facilitate girls by providing education to them at their door step. He said that in the next phase of laptop scheme out of 200,000 laptops, 150,000 would be assembled in Pakistan.

He urged youth to play their positive role to bring change in the society for the next generations as you are the future of Pakistan. In his opening remarks, Professor Dr Javed Akram Vice Chancellor of the Shaheed Zulifqar All Bhutto Medical University/ PIMS said that students and universities have deep relation and expressed to continue these types of activities in the future.

He said that laptop scheme is very useful and deserving students were getting benefit from it. As many as 139 medical students of the university have been given laptops in the ceremony.
