Govt Corona Counter Strategy Works, Positive Cases Reducing Sharply: Bangash

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2021 ) :Special Assistant for Information and Higher education Kamran Khan Bangash Thursday said that corona counter strategy of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government worked effectively as positive cases in the province has been reducing sharply even in the high positivity districts as well.
He said this during a media briefing soon after the Provincial Task Force meeting held with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Chair. Corona positive cases are declining sharply thanks to the government's best strategy, Kamran Bangash said. The number of positive cases in the province at present is 8-9%, Kamran Bangash informed the media men.
He said it is very encouraging that the most affected districts are also declining.
He said the meeting was given a detailed briefing on Corona counter strategies of the provincial government and implementation of the corona code of conduct across the province.
He said the meeting decided to close all tourist destinations from May 8 to 16. Other provinces to be contacted for closure of tourist destinations and inter-provincial transport, Kamran Bangash said, adding, "The management of tourist destinations will check the identity cards and take action against non-locals.
" He said, grocery, medicine and grocery stores will remain open till 6 pm during lockdown in the province. He said, it has been decided to keep milk and yoghurt shops open 24 hours a day.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister praised the enhancement of health capacity and directed to further enhance this capacity, Kamran Bangash informed.
Chief Minister has directed the concerned authorities to procure corona vaccine at the provincial level as well, Kamran Bangash added. The meeting was informed that so far 2.5 million people have been vaccinated in the province, Kamran Bangash said.
He said that the province has received 649,000 doses so far and about 25,000 vaccines are being administered daily. He said the frontline workers are being vaccinated in the first phase.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan directs all ministers and MPAs to keep rooms closed and avoid gatherings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Kamran Bangash informed. Kamran Bangash said, implementation of precautionary measures will be ensured in Eid-ul-Fitr, the meeting decided.
