Govt Determined To Release Aafia From US Jail: Fawad

ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Nov, 2018 ) :Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Thursday said that present government was determined to bring back Aafia Siddiqui from the jail in the United States.

Aafia was a Pakistani citizen, he said while talking to private news channels.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had given directives to Foreign Office to talk to American authorities concerned for the release of Aafia Siddiqui from the US jail, he said.

Commenting on Aasia Bibi's release, he said there was no truth that she had gone out of the country. It was the apex court orders to release her, in the light of Holy Quran and Sunnah, he said.

As far as review petition was concerned, he said, the government had no role in that regard.

The court had to decide whether she should stay here or leave the country.

The government would adopt the constitutional way, he said. Aasia Bibi was released after the apex court's decision.

To a question, the information minister stated it was decided in the Parliamentary Committee meeting to release the protestors of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan, who remained peaceful during the demonstration.

Action would be taken against those protestors who created law and order situation during the protest, he added. The minister said that present government had achieved its objective of ending protest across the country.

Fawad Hussain said the First Investigation Report (FIR) was lodged against those elements who had created violence in the country.
