Govt Focusing On Hydro, Indigenous Coal Fired Energy Projects: Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar

Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar on Tuesday said the government was focusing on producing energy through hydroelectric projects and indigenous coal to minimize dependence on imported fuel to reduce cost and provide relief to the masses.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2018 ) :Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar on Tuesday said the government was focusing on producing energy through hydroelectric projects and indigenous coal to minimize dependence on imported fuel to reduce cost and provide relief to the masses.
He was talking to Ambassador of Austria, Brigita Blaha, who called on him here. Member Energy was also present in the meeting.
Pakistan, he said, appreciates Austrian cooperation in different hydroelectric and energy projects across the country adding that both countries enjoy cordial and friendly relations.
The minister hoped that energy prospects would improve with the completion of various ongoing power projects.
He expressed optimism that Austria would also cooperate in providing technical expertise and transfer of necessary technology for capacity building of domestic companies.
The minister said Pakistan has huge potential in hydro and renewable power generation and we expect Austria to invest in various energy sector initiatives.
Brigita Blaha appreciated the vision of the government and assured full cooperation in cleanenergy development.
