Minister for Communication and Postal Services Murad Saeed Thursday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf (PTI) government was formulating policies to steer the country out of economic crisis
Responding to the statement of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the National Assembly here, he said the opposition had not joined hands to protect rights of the people but to protect 'their corrupt practices.' "We would have been happy if the opposition joined hand for the interest and welfare of the people," he added.
He said members of the opposition in the past used to talk about dragging each other on roads, and now they were openly embracing each other.
He said it was unfortunate that a proclaimed offender had used a former Prime Minister aircraft to fly out of the country. He said it was unfortunate that Joint Investigation Team (JIT) had revealed fake accounts and money was detected in the accounts of poor people.
The minister said that it would have been much better if the opposition had asked the government what steps it had taken to enroll 25 million out of school children.
"We would have been happy if the opposition has questioned the government steps for expanding of tax net, welfare of people and steps for the development of FATA and Balochistan," he added.
He said that the government was ready to debate as to how the previous governments spent the loans taken by them.
The minister dispelled the impression about withdrawing of 18th Amendment and said his party always talked about the rights of the smaller provinces.
Murad Saeed said he always supported the idea that provinces should have the first right on their gas and electricity resources.
He said that on the order of Supreme Court, the government will review to exclude the name of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Murad Ali Shah from the Exit Control List (ECL).
It was unfortunate that a court's decision in one's favour, was hailed but the verdict against anyone, was criticized, he added.
He said people of FATA had rendered unmatched sacrifices in war against terrorism. He said that reforms in the FATA were included in the agenda of PTI.
The minister said that people who were talking about FATA development failed to surrender one percent share from the National Finance Commission (NFC). He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the first province which implemented all the points regarding FATA merger.
He said, "Over the last four months, we have provided shelters to those who used to spend their nightsunder the open sky."
