Govt Keen For Revival Of KCR Project

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Nov, 2018 ) :Sindh Governor Imran Ismail Thursday said that the federal government attaches due priority to the revival of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project to facilitate the citizens and resolve grievances regarding public transportation system in the metropolis.

Talking to the visiting delegation of National Defence University during a call-on meeting here at Governor's House, he said that one of the pre-requisite for launching the project was the clearance of right of way of the KCR route from encroachments.

"Several households have been illegally living along the right side of the route. A resettlement action plan is under consideration to identify and provide land for the people to be affected", he added.

The governor duly commended the role of Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Police and other LEAs in maintaining the law and order in the city and urged upon all the stake holders to ensure their participation.

He informed the delegation that an Industrial Liaison Committee has also been constituted to promote industrialization in the province and to facilitate industrialists and resolve the genuine issues promptly at the appropriate level.

He said that sincere and selfless efforts were needed for uplifting the lives of people of this province in terms of provision of quality education, basic health facilities, clean drinking water, employment generation for the youth.

"Federal Government is committed to support the provincial government in each and every sector to ensure a positive change in the lives of a common man", he reiterated.
