ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 19th March, 2019) Information Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday to review progress on development work at Kartarpur Corridor.The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing by Frontier Works Organization on the work undertaken so far.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the meeting decided not to construct buildings on a piece of 30 acre land which was used by Baba Guru Nanak for cultivation, out of his respect.
The request for keeping this area preserved was made by Novjot Singh Sidhu in a letter to government of Pakistan.He said Kartarpur Corridor is a project of 1500 acres of land inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan in January this year.He said a road of 6.8 kilometers will be constructed in the corridor to facilitate the sikh pilgrims coming to visit the shrine.
