Govt Should Promote Organic Agriculture Production To Meet Demand Of Food: Chairman

GOJRA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jan, 2019 ) :Chairman Pakistan Kisan Welfare Council Chaudhry Abdul Latif Sahu here on Monday urges the authorities concerned to take timely measures to meet the challenge of agriculture production and underlines the need to promote organic agriculture production across the country to fulfill the demand of food.
He said that across the country around 21 million acres out of 80 million acres is cultivated area while the ratio of population growth is high as compare to percentage of resources of the state.
He said that across the globe the population growth is 1.
6 percent and agriculture production ratio 0.9 is increasing annually which is showing a big food security threat in future.
He said that it is the responsibility of government and all stakeholders to take timely measures to meet the challenges of future and it is need of time to promote organic agriculture production across the country, he stressed .
He suggested that more land could be cultivated through the construction of water storage system.
Due to lack of proper management and access to the market thousands tons of mangoes are annually wasted in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, he informed.
