ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 25th February, 2019) President Dr Arif Alvi has said the present government will bring reforms and change in all sectors including education and health.He was addressing a National Seminar on Education: The way Forward in Islamabad on Monday.The President regretted the education sector was neglected in the past but said we can exploit the potential of our youth by educating them keeping in view the modern trends.
He stressed that syllabus should be framed keeping in view the demands of the market.The President said that he will soon be meeting the vice chancellors of different universities in order to discuss the way forward.
He said we are living in the modern age and quality of education and teaching can be improved by employing the modern technologies.Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood said a national curriculum council has been formed in order to move toward introducing a uniform syllabus in the country.
He said we are fully focused to address all the challenges in the education sector.Chairman of Council of Islamic Ideology Qibla Ayaz in his remarks said that outdated education system needs to be replaced in order promote conceptual learning in educational institutions.Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program Sania Nishtar said education and skill development will be an important component of the poverty alleviation program being launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan on 28th of this month.Chairman Higher Education Commission Tariq Banuri said we have set the target of doubling enrolment in the higher education in the next five years time.
He said our focus should be providing sufficient funding for the higher education as well as the research. NNI
