Govt to enroll 30,000 out of schoolchildren in federal capital, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood on Friday said that the government has planned to enroll 30,000 out of school children in the federal capital.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Nov, 2018 ) :Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood on Friday said that the government has planned to enroll 30,000 out of school children in the federal capital.

Replying to a calling attention notice in the Senate, the minister said that the government was giving top priority to education and no stone would be left unturned to bring visible changes in the sector.

He said that it should be ensured that every child gets access to education and standard of schools in the federal capital would be improved while the issues of shortage of schools would also be addressed.

He said that directions have been passed on to the Federal Directorate of Education to ensure improving standard of the education institutions in the federal capital and address all shortcoming.

He said that presently 385 posts of teachers were laying vacant, out of which 250 posts were related to Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) while rest of seats was related to promotion matters.

He said that 1,770 daily wages teachers had been working in the federal capital educational institutions for the last eight to 10 years. "We are looking into the legal matters of these daily wages teachers." He said that school fees matter was in the court, however Private Education Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) was looking after the matter.

Earlier, in a calling attention notice, Senator Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi drawing attention towards theshortage of teachers in the colleges under the administrative control of the federal government, said intern teachers have been working to overcome the shortage.
