LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2018 ) :Provincial Minister for Housing,Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed Tuesday said under Prime Minister's 'Naya Pakistan Housing Project', five million affordable houses for under- privileged classes would erected during the next five years.
"We have started work on our ambitious 100 days agenda aiming at steps for alleviating poverty, creating 100 million jobs, improving economy and ensuring farmers' prosperity," he said.
Talking to this scribe at his Punjab Assembly chamber, he said, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government was determined to raise living standard of the common man and for this, a number of steps were being initiated.
He said, owing to unprecedented increase in population, people were facing dearth of houses, however the government would provide them residential units at affordable prices.
The minister said, people had mandated the PTI for recovery of looted money and their crusade against corruption was underway. "We have started indiscriminate crackdown against big fish to recover the looted money from them," Rasheed said.
To a question, the minister said new local body system would ensure transfer of power at lower level in real term adding, during tenure of previous government, powers were not shifted to local government representatives as a result issues faced by the people could not be redressed.
He said the PTI government's first budget was people- friendly in which no burden of taxes was put on common man.
