Govt, Trying To Provide Cheap Electricity To Consumers: Umar Ayub

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Nov, 2018 ) :Federal Minister for Power Umar Ayub Khan Tuesday said that the government was trying to provide cheap electricity to the consumers and increasing dependence on unique technology as well.
Talking to ptv, he said the government had not increased prices of electricity for poor people and it facilitated the agriculture sector.
The minister said to up grade the system, the government was taking concrete measures for stopping steeling of electricity in the country, adding that no remission would be given to those found involved in electricity theft, however, the government was keenly interested for smooth supply of electricity all over the country.
He said the incumbent government was taking steps to improve power system within its first 100 days of economic agenda. A new technology is being imported for streamlining all the power supplying system soon, he added.
Replying to a question, he said Prime Minister Imran Khan was visiting different countries and taking transparent decisions in the larger interest of the country. The government was taking all those steps which would be helpful to strengthen the national economy, the minister said.
To another query, he said water reservoirs are essential for the country otherwise issue of food security could be raised in future.
